On this week’s episode of The Created Life I talk to a truly remarkable man who turned a sequence of tragedies — the loss of his brother, his wife, and his two young daughters — into a life of healing and helping others overcome the negative impact of loss. Reverend Dr. Ted Wiard is the founder of Golden Willow Retreat, an emotional healing center near Taos, New Mexico. Ted has a doctorate in organizational leadership and works as a therapist with an emphasis is in relapse prevention and emotional healing from loss. With a passion for emotional sobriety, Ted helps bring a new light and understanding to personal and collective growth and healing. Ted has been on the Oprah Winfrey Network with Shania Twain, he spends much of his time speaking around the country about addiction and/or grief and loss. He is a co-author of Witnessing Ted: The Journey to Potential through Grief and Loss.
In this week’s episode, Dr. Wiard and I discuss:
- Navigating loss
- Emotional healing
- Handling the unexpected death of loved ones
- Loss of identity
- Addiction and recovery, “emotional sobriety”
- Organizational leadership in the midst of change

- and much more!
