On this week’s show I discuss a wide-variety of topics relating to sex, pornography and sexuality with a couple of Denver-based independent art porn producers, Kestrel Mills and Christopher Magill. The content of the show is not overtly pornographic, but we discuss many aspects of pornography as an industry as well as human sexuality. So please use your discretion if you are listening to this with children present — this week’s episode of The Created Life covers topics that I am passionate about and that are extremely important for us to be discussing as a culture — but they are definitely topics suited for a mature audience.

In this week’s episode I have a lively conversation the humans behind the art porn project, Unicorn Palace, we discuss:

  • The problems with porn
  • Erotic art, feminist porn, and amateur porn
  • Using machine learning to create animated erotica
  • The state of VR in porn
  • Shame in sexuality
  • Polyamory and ethical non-monogamy
  • Making “ethical porn”, a non-exploitative celebration of sexuality
  • Destigmatizing sexuality, elevating sex from the gutter
  • The Tumblr porn takedown and the climate for indie porn today
  • What changes would need to happen for a cultural shift in the way we think about porn
  • Letting go of embarrassment of sexuality, our bodies
  • Self love and self acceptance as a foundation for a positive relationship to sexuality
  • The importance of consent
  • Trust, jealousy, compersion, fear
  • Unlearning jealousy and homophobia
  • The power of making choices and changing your physiology
  • The gift economy, moving from scarcity to abundance
  • Getting creative, taking responsibility for ourselves

Today’s interview was recorded by Ryan Foo at the PodSpace in Denver, Colorado.
